No, it not so dangerous. But I tried to cook Americium, Radium and Beryllium in 96% sulphuric-acid, to easier get them blended. But the whole thing exploded upp in the air...
Of cource I thrown away my pills at the left side, and I didn't drink the juice-syryp in the right.

Just go out there and trap a couple of litres of air in some milk cartons, and get on with your experiments. Seeing as there already exist copious amounts of crap thrown out by Fukushima added to the remnants of US, USSR nuclear tests. Hence, there ought to be enough stuff for you to play around with, and the added benefit of not getting into trouble with any jobs' worth GUBMINT types.
Just make sure that you wash the milk cartons you use thoroughly, so that you don't get skewed data, from the milk contamination!

I'm a lab technician in a school, and I worry about anyone playing at home with even conc Sulphuric Acid let alone radioactive substances. And definitely NOT in your kitchen. This is not a good inspiration for young people at all!! Please learn your lesson, but don't be downhearted, enroll in a university as a mature student and with enough study you will be able to do research legally and without risk. Fulfill your dream this way and I wish you good luck. From a mere technician !!

Dude don't make me laugh, nothing is save. Even if you're a student or one of those corrupted scientists, some day you'll fail. And if your job belongs to science and you play with elements that you know that are dangerous, you are putting the ones near you in danger.
